On a cold winter day near the start of December, volunteers were setting up to make a day to remember. St. John Paul II High School was transformed that day into Whoville, a place for the kids to come play.
The kids from the High School were there bright and early, to make sure that Kind Hearts had no reason to worry. With smiles on their faces they worked and they toiled, until Grinchfest was ready so it wouldn’t be spoiled.
The halls filled with games for the children to play and a room packed with goodies to be given away.
It was finally time for the kids to come play, they were greeted by name and invited to stay. The therapy dogs gave a friendly hello, wagging tails, happy faces-love ready to go. But the dogs weren’t the only animals who came for the fun, Pine Meadows came too and they had more than one. A tortoise, a bunny, Guinea pigs and a dragon, with that many animals they needed a wagon.
And the food! And the food! And the Food! Food! Food! Food!
And the more the Grinch thought of this whole Who food thing, the more the Grinch thought ‘How much food did they bring?!’
There were lots of fun things that the children could make, gingerbread, jello grinch and a snowman to take.
Santa arrived and was full of good cheer bringing smiles to the faces of all who were near.
And the Grinch, oh the Grinch, well in Whoville they say, made everyone's hearts grow 3 sizes that day! He was laughing and smiling and joking around, taking pictures, giving hugs and high fives all around!
Welcome Christmas. Bring your cheer,
Cheer to all Whos, far and near.
Christmas Day is in our grasp
So long as we have hands to grasp.
Christmas Day will always be
Just as long as we have we.
Welcome Christmas while we stand
Heart to Heart and hand to hand.
Thank you to ALL of the amazing people who made this day possible!
From the Kind Hearts family to yours...
